News/Blog

Aunt Mimi  (Steven Malatesta and Dermot Whittaker)  played a rousing feature at LOMA this February.  They covered a huge time span musically using two guitars and close harmony singing.  Kudos to Brad Meyer and Brent Clark for setting up and running the Library’s Mackie sound system.

The LOMA open mike was video recorded in January and the first half including my opener can be accessed via the link, vimeo.com/34846034 .  The second half, starting with the wonderful feature by Fiske & Herrera, is accessible via vimeo.com/34850959.

My latest new song written this winter is “Ups and Downs”, the result of a songwriting challenge.  I recently debuted “Lost Along the Way” and “Romancin”, to lots of acclaim.  You can catch two other of my recent songs (“Geneva Waltz” and “Forgiveness”) via the URL vimeo.com/37068194,  at around minute 40.  That’s Kenny Selcer on guitar and Brent Clark on bass backing me.

I’m pleased to note that my YouTube video “Jetman” has exceeded 6000 (non-orchestrated) views. This is a homage to Yves Rossi, who flew across the English Channel and more recently over the Grand Canyon using a jet-pack.  To check it out, follow my YouTube link clicking the Music tab above.  Also noteworthy, the “^Yellow Rubber Ducks” video closing in on 3000 views.  Who watches these and how do they find them??

You’ll find some fresh “Idioisms” and a fairly new section on “Whimsical Names”  I get new additions from readers.  Here’s your chance to contribute your favorites.
